Screen Printing

Determining Factors of Screen Print Price

QUANTITY - GARMENT - GARMENT COLOR

We are a production shop; we base our costs on production time. If you need a few shirts or 1000 shirts, it takes the same time to set up the job. Therefore larger quantities will always have a lower "per shirt" price than smaller quantities. Basic t-shirts of course are least expensive, price increases when you add pockets, long sleeves or choose a tri-blend, ringer tee, 3/4 sleeve, or fleece. White is the least expensive in any garment. This can affect price when you get into larger quantities. Athletic Heather (Oxford), and Ash are a little more expensive, with all other colors being the most expensive.

How Long Does It Take
Once we have your order (garment type and quantity of each size), we begin on your artwork. We will have your artwork ready within a couple of days. We generally send a proof to you in an email for approval. We will not start a job until we have an approval. After you approve your final artwork and give us the complete order, we will complete your screen printing order within two weeks. We generally complete our orders within a week, but we always guarantee two weeks (unless specified). Yes, we can rush an order…Sometimes we have to charge extra if we have to stay extra. We ship if required, cost is determined on location and at your added expense.

Print Location Verses Price
A small left-chest design, cost just as much as a full-chest design.

Number of Printed Colors
2 colors are more expensive than 1, and 3 colors are more expensive then 2 obviously.

Printing on Dark Garments

Printing on dark garments can be problematic. The dye in the shirt migrates into the ink causing a dull dark print. Printing white ink on red shirts can be very displeasing if the red from the shirts turns the ink pink. When you want bright colors on Black or dark garments, a process called underbasing and flashing needs to be done. To get royal blue to look like royal blue on a black shirt, you first need to lay down a layer of white, flash cure it (gelling the white ink) and laying the Royal Blue on top of the white. This, of course, can lead to additional cost.
